This cup was part of a service made for the Seymour family, dukes of Somerset.This pair of scissors is made from a single piece of silver. The figure eight shape of the handle acts as a spring for the cutting motion. Relatively few pre-Tang scissors survive and most that do are made of iron.A work made of silk, satin weave; embroidered with silk floss in satin, long and short, stem, straight, star, outline and fishbone stitches; with slanting satin stitch on border; french knots.
